Many years Pervomaisk was a city of strategic importance - there was the division headquarters the strategic missile forces, located around the city carefully concealed deep underground command posts and missile silos with the most advanced nuclear missiles.
In the late 20th century, when Ukraine declared the elimination of nuclear weapons on its territory, Pervomaisk has become a place of destruction of dangerous weapons. One of the key command posts was converted into a Strategic Missile Forces museum.
The museum is a former central battle front position missile regiment with silo-launcher, a unified ungerground command post missile launch silo-based, ground-based facilities for alerting. By the way, all technical and technological systems in good working order and readiness, except for sites that are designed to perform basic tasks - the launch of rockets and secret equipment to be dismantled. Also in the museum includes historical and cultural center, what located in Pervomaisk, sports and hotel complex and other units.
The variety of exhibits is striking not only for its size (the smallest, such as fragments of shells during World War II, and up to 35 m long with a diameter of 3 meters - these options have intercontinental ballistic missile SS-18 "Satan", our collection of unique exhibits of rocket technology), but its exclusivity. Currently, the museum has more than 2000 exhibits and their number is constantly growing.

The halls are exhibits telling about the history of the Strategic Missile Forces, 46y missile division, devices and equipment underground unified command post, starting positions.
Underground unified command post & underground postern.
Underground unified command post (UCP) is a unique military engineering construction, capable of 45-day stand-alone duty to ensure the livelihoods of the group. Postern used for hidden and safe movement of SMF officers at the command post.
Silo launchers, auxiliary equipment
Silo launchers is a reinforced concrete structure, which houses a container with a missile.
Protective cover, weighing 120 tons was opened for 8 seconds. The auxiliary motor-vehicles used to load the container with a rocket into the mine, filling rocket fuel and other operations.
Nuclear missiles & protection facilities
Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) SS-18 «Satan». Cruise missiles of "AS-4 Kitchen" series: Kh-22N, Kh-22MP, Kh-22NA (with nuclear warhead).
Automated protection facilities includes:
